Running blog update - up to the next level

First of all my best wishes to you - the reader of this blog - for the new year 2012! I hope you will be able to stretch yourself and chase your dreams.

Since my last race in Belgium, there was not a single update from my side on my old running blog. My friends and family that are connected via Facebook and/or Twitter had regular mini-updates on my workout schedule/progress.

As you might know, Nathalie and myself relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina mid AugustOnce again, we would like to thank everyone that supported our decision to relocate for a 24-36 month period.

Nathalie started almost immediately with the final preparation for her MBA studies while I had one week off. We used that week to hunt for an apartment and enjoy my second week after my season ended.

The 2 weeks after that break, I gradually picked up the mileage again while starting my new role in the Deloitte Charlotte office. On week 38, the official preparation towards the Summer of 2012 started.

Right now, 15 weeks have passed. In those - almost - four months, my weekly average mileage is pointing at 65.5 miles (= 105,5K). That is quite surprising to me as I never had a period longer than 1 month with an average above 90K. My body adapted quite well to the additional volume and - until now - I don`t have any physical discomfort.

In the coming 2 months, the weekly mileage will go down just a little bit as we pick up more specific workouts. However, the plan would be to maintain an overall average mileage close to 100K until April, the start of the summer season.
