The first and second
week after my European race season, the intensity of my workouts is quite low. Right
now, I`m purely running/training for fun. The mileage is currently around
40+ miles a week (65-70 km) and the majority is focusing on aerobic work.
My
motivation and drive will come back as soon as I have committed myself to train
with a new group and successful coach. Next to that, I`m (partially)
disappointed that people started to form an opinion (and releasing it in the
press) of what went wrong without contacting me or my (former) team. Close
friends were asking me why I trained less. Apparently, they read an article
that clearly stated that I did not train enough in the States. The opposite is
true: I trained too much and was probably missing some essential workouts prior
to my race season. Nevertheless, it is time to move on!
