During the week that my
parents came over to the USA, trainers Tim and Dirk of the High Performance Running Team planned a week of active recovery.
It was my fifth (5th) training cycle since we started our summer preparation begin September.
As my parents wanted to
get a glance of the American way of living, we visited a couple of interesting
towns and cities in North and South Carolina. In order to get to our
destinations, we had to drive quite some miles. During these long drives, the
gigantic difference in lifestyle between the rich(er) and poor(er)
Americans was tangible and visible.
Before the start
of our daily road trip, I did my sober morning runs. The weekly total of 96K (59.6
miles) felt pretty comfortable and the single harder training (3K WU, 5K @
3:29/K, 3K CD) satisfied me. My aerobic basis is more solid than the previous
winters. As from now, the specificity of my workouts will only increase. I`m
getting ready to race!
