From a anaerobic capacity (=ANC) perspective, week 08 will not
be remembered as the most efficient nor most contribution one. The 14K easy run
workout on Monday evening (travel day), went awesome and the sober morning run
on Tuesday went fine as well.
However, after lunch on Tuesday I started feeling not so well.
This progressed in a very bad feeling in my stomach towards the end of the
evening. After an easy run I got chilly all the way down. A hot tub didn`t help
at all. The morning training was skipped, such as the breakfast and lunch. As a
result of that, the evening training was also skipped. Same thing applied for
Thursday. In the evening, I started feeling better.
As I wanted to be cautious, I didn`t run on Friday as well. The
weekend was used to do some recovery (mornings) and longer easy runs
(afternoons). The body responded very well on the longer night rests. As such,
we start the regular training program of week 9 in Detroit. We completed the week with 80K (49.7 miles), about 30K too short.
